Skelton`s Saturday Morning Club was the beginning of Skelton United as a football club, attracting over 200 children to its very first coaching morning. It still attracts very high numbers now.
Recognising the importance of the Saturday Morning Club to develop and assess players to be introduced into the competitive set up, it was always recognised that not everyone wants to play competitively within a team. With this in mind and with ourclub`s open door policy we realised that these sessions were a way for the local children to be healthy, active, learn and play football at whatever standard, thus ensuring everyone was included.
With the help of FA qualified coaches and volunteers these sessions remain popular and fun. It is our aim to keep them this way.
If you are a young person of an aged between 5 and 11 years and looking for an introduction into football or consider yourself as having a certain level of ability, then come along on a Saturday morning. We can introduce you to Skelton United as a club and can look at helping you towards a team of the relevant age group.
Remember even if you are just looking to have some fun, to be involved in an active sport and thereby keeping fit and healthy, or are curious as to what we do on a Saturday morning, then please come along and get involved. Everyone is friendly, helpful and will provide a warm welcome.
